Formaggio Kitchen has been an institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts for over 40 years–“a gourmand’s paradise” doubling as a neighborhood grocer. Nationally, we are best known for our cheese selection, which includes many exclusive items imported directly from farms in Europe. Locally, we are equally well known for our kitchen and bakery production including sandwiches, panini and nightly dinners as well as cakes, cookies and a variety of other sweets – all made in house, from scratch and using the best (often local) ingredients. Formaggio Kitchen is looking for a full-time Baker! This is a full-time position with potential to grow with Formaggio Kitchen. Our bakers generally start their day at 4am.

 Our baker is responsible for:

• Completing the morning bake-off including making scones, baking croissants and muffins
• Producing our bakery staples such as bread pudding, seasonal crisps, cookies, brownies, granola, and more. 
• Collaborating with our head baker with recipe testing and ideas
• Assisting in putting away deliveries
• Helping maintain a clean and orderly kitchen

Qualifications:

• Some baking experience is required
• Open availability, including weekends and holidays
• A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude are a must
• This is a very physically demanding position. Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• We ask for a one year commitment to this position
