The Director of Programs is responsible for overseeing Willing Hands mission based activities. In partnership with the Executive Director they will draft, update and execute the Implementation Plan as part of the organization’s Strategic Plan. This includes developing new projects and programs to achieve strategic plan goals. This position works with the development team to support program and restricted fundraising including program related grants and donor stewardship. Overseeing organization wide program outcomes and program reporting is a core part of this job as is guiding the organization in building core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion into our mission and operations. As a senior level position the Director of Programs will serve as one of the key ambassadors of the organization’s work. This position serves on the Willing Hands’ Management team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Supervise all aspects of the Willing Hands programs and projects including Gleaning, Gardens, Operations (delivery and warehouse), Share a Share, Grow a Row, and programs to be developed. This includes staff supervision and support including supporting yearly work plans, goal setting, and annual evaluations. (50%)
- Lead the development of new programs and projects. (10%)
- Support program fundraising with the Development Team. (20%)
- Support organization wide outcomes and measurement and reporting to the Board. (10%)
- Act as a public ambassador for the organization and support outreach and communications. (10%)
Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience with program management, project development, and execution in a highly collaborative workplace
- Proven experience supervising and supporting multiple staff in a non-profit setting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sense of professionalism while interacting with all levels of employees, partners, volunteers, and the broader community.
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising.
- High levels of creativity and flexibility and desire to support others in a dynamic nonprofit setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organization skills
Required and/or preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years non-profit program management and staff supervision experience.
- Fundraising experience including grants solicitation and management preferred.
- Program creation and development experience preferred.
Physical Requirements and work environment:
- May sit for prolonged periods of time.

This is a fulltime exempt salaried position. Yearly salary $80,000 - $87,000
