Located in the serene, rolling fields of Whitefield, Maine, Fuzzy Udder produces a distinctive range of fresh, soft-ripened, and aged cheeses crafted from sheep, goat, and cow’s milk. 2024 marks the 13th year of operation for Fuzzy Udder Creamery. We source high-quality milk from local farmers and produce award-winning artisan cheese using organic Jersey cow's milk from Grace Pond Farm in Thomaston, and goat milk from Pumpkin Vine Family Farm in Somerville.

Fuzzy Udder Creamery is looking for a new Head Cheesemaker to make our award-winning cheeses and lead our amazing crew. 

The primary activities will be cheesemaking, cheese maintenance, dishwashing, cleaning, and sometimes wrapping cheese and packing orders. The ideal candidate would be excited to learn all the roles at our creamery so they can step in and cover for other teammates as needed. Secondary activities include making wholesale deliveries, farmers’ markets, running errands, fixing broken things, and repairs and maintenance around the creamery in the off-season.

The position is full-time, and some paid overtime hours may be necessary in the busy season (June – September). Our creamery is seasonal, so work slows down in the winter and picks back up in March. Starting pay is $22/hour. The position begins as soon as possible. This is a physical job and requires someone able to lift 50 lbs regularly. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of experience making cheese. Applicants with no cheesemaking experience will not be considered for this position.
