Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Lead to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient production processes, and upholding our commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise production staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Execute production tasks, including butchery, slicing, and packaging, while adhering to quality standards and production schedules.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager on research and development projects, including recipe development and quality testing.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to food safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Utilize Excel for scheduling production activities, building recipes, and managing inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to implement and maintain inventory control procedures, including ordering and managing stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA and SQF guidelines and standards, including HACCP protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor production quality and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to address issues and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire production teams.
  • Experience in meat processing or a related industry, with knowledge of butchery techniques and knife skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel for scheduling, recipe building, and inventory management.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work in a cold environment.
  • HACCP certification or willingness to undergo training in USDA and SQF guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Hours are 6am-2:30pm Monday - Friday. Flexibility to work occasional weekends or overtime as needed.
