The First Alternative Co-op is a natural food cooperative located in the heart of the Willamette Valley, in the beautiful town of Corvallis, Oregon. Corvallis is a university town with a little over 60,000 residents: tree-lined avenues, a thriving restaurant scene, enthusiastic Sustainability Coalition, and free public transportation. The town is located midway between Eugene and Portland and just 45 minutes from the Oregon coast and an hour from the Cascade mountains.
With over 12,000 owners, two store locations, a state-of-the-art commissary facility and lots of room to grow, First Alternative is the ideal place to further your career and make a big impact on the community. First Alternative is looking for a General Manager who is great at communication, community involvement, and balancing long term plans with current store needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in cooperative business, local food action and retail management. They will be able to honor the principles we stand for with an eye for modernization, inclusion, and responsible growth.
The new GM will be at the head of our efforts, assuring that:

The GM oversees all aspects of Co-op operations and works closely with the strong and experienced management team to keep the organization running smoothly. In addition to this, they represent the stores in the community at large. They report to the Board of Directors, elected owners of the Co-op, who use Policy Governance to guide the GM while allowing a healthy freedom to function and excel at what they do best.

Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range $115,000-$150,000 commensurate with experience.
