Summary:   The Glynwood Farm Store is a year-round retail destination, located in an idyllic setting on our working farm and 226-acre property. The Farm Store is the main point of contact for visitors to learn about Glynwood’s regenerative agricultural practices and the property’s history. We carry our own Certified Organic produce and Animal Welfare Approved meat and eggs, and a bounty of other local goods sourced from our regional food system. Our team is trained to excel in a fast-paced customer service setting that welcomes eaters into the joys of shopping locally. 

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Opening the store: stocking produce, organizing refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods, stocking and fronting shelves, cleaning as necessary.
  • Running the store: staffing register and running POS system (Square), greeting customers and bagging groceries, capturing social media content, restocking shelves and keeping the store tidy, answering customer questions around Glynwood’s organizational work, regenerative farming practices, product provenance, pick-your-own field, ingredient preparation and proper storage. 
  • Closing the store: putting away fresh produce, donating off of leftover perishable product, composting unsaleable products and maintaining shrink log, end of day restocking, sweeping and vacuuming, closing out of register.
  • Additional tasks: organize walk-in and food storage areas, taking inventory, data entry, general cleaning, taking out trash and recycling.
 

Competencies

  • Ability to provide high-level of customer service 
  • Confidence in cooking with meat, vegetables, and locally-sourced ingredients
  • Have excellent communication and organization skills 
 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Bending and stretching will be required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.  
  • Work will be primarily located indoors in Glynwood’s Farm Store, but may require spending some time outdoors. 
 

Work Hours:

  • Regular:  Sunday: 9 AM - 3 PM and Tuesday 2PM - 4 PM Late May to Early
  • Occasional Coverage: Tuesday or Friday: 1 PM - 6 PM and Saturday: 9 AM - 3 PM, on occasion
 

Compensation:  

  • $21.78 per hour
  • 40% discount on farm store products
