Company description We are an independently owned business specializing in wholesale sourdough breads and croissants. All of our products are sourdough, crafted entirely by hand, and feature long, slow fermentation. As a baker, you will get to work with directly with our Chief Bread Officer Ben Traore and continue to develop your skills under his tutelage. In addition to providing bread for our flagship store in Cairo, we have won international awards for our breads and are featured in some of the best kitchens, coffee shops, stores, and farm stands in the Catskill region. We are active members in the Bread Bakers Guild and the NY Bakers' Chapter. Job description We are hiring for a baker to join our team! Your job duties would include operating your station with integrity and intention, creating a stellar product and keeping a positive attitude while doing it.  

If you do not have experience, we are willing to train you in the art of sourdough bread production. Experience is a definite plus.

• Reasonable Hours: work a consistent 40 daytime hours a week, year-round. Most baking shifts are staggered and start at 6am and end no later than 5pm, seven days a week.

• Team player. Our business is nowhere without our team, so in order to grow with us, you have to work WITH us and your coworkers. Be willing to jump in, help out, and generally get the job done.
• Positive attitude. Come to work everyday with a positive attitude and try your best. Look for solutions when problems arise instead of focusing on the issue.
• Physically capable. Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift, lift 50 pounds while bending, stretching, and moving. We also do regular labor movement training with our staff and encourage stretching daily.
• Willing to trail. The best way for you to meet our team and see how we work and for us to assess your skill level to appropriately compensate you is by doing a 4-hour unpaid trail. Generally, if there's a good fit from both sides, we offer you the position at the end of the trail.
• References. Coming with experience means coming with references. We expect the connection to be able to speak with your former managers and coworkers if you're offered a position for references.
