Company description Closter Farm & Livestock is an Organic and Regenerative, 7 acre farm, in Closter, NJ. We believe that the healthiest, best tasting, most beautiful vegetables and livestock are grown when they are a symbiotic product of whole farm health. Every action we take is focused on fostering a diverse, resilient, verdant ecosystem whose natural byproduct is intense soil fertility and natural pest resistance. Equally important to us is that our approach follows sustainable environmental best practices by sequestering carbon in our soil and minimizing or eliminating the water and air pollution associated with conventional agriculture and its reliance on synthetic chemicals.   • Market staff sets ups, stocks, runs and closes the market.
  • Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, stocking the store, setting up displays, organizing produce + meats, checking quality on perishable produce, assisting the farm team with washing and packing vegetables, running the register, closing the store and daily side work.
  • The Market Team can also assist with classes + tours.
  • The ideal candidate loves food, is passionate about sustainable food systems and is comfortable talking about meat, dairy, vegetables + fruit.
  • The ideal candidate will work well with others, be able to work on projects alone, be good talking to customers (answering questions, suggesting complementary products) and punctual.
  • must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and must be able to lift up to 50 LBs.
Experience is not necessary to work with us. We are very happy to teach dedicated people the how’s and why’s, in’s and out’s, do’s and don’ts of our farming philosophy and we always find that great people end up teaching us a whole lot too. A commitment to a full season of work is required, but we can be flexible during the beginning and the end of the season for great candidates.
