Introducing East Point’s first craft beverage Brewery and Speakeasy Bar and Event Space “Atlanta Utility Works” by Cultured South Fermentation Company.  AUW is a micro farm-brewery with a rich history of agriculture, its the home of Golda Kombucha, GrandMother Hard Kombucha and a plethora of farm to glass cocktails and beers.

Atlanta Utility Works dates back to the early 1900s as one of the premier industrial businesses in East Point, Georgia. Recent series have featured the abandoned factory, including Ozark and Stranger Things. The site is now being preserved and activated as a brewery, taproom, and events space. Atlanta Utility Works has transformed the on-site foundry into an intimate outdoor events space, The Foundry Ruins which holds private and public events for the community.

Job description

Event Coordinator/Sales Assistant:

  1. Assisting ownership in sales process of events and coordinating leading up to the event and day-of-operations
    1. Managing of activations from top to bottom including artist markets (Sunday Funday)
    2. Managing of weekly talent and entertainment (activations) To include, DJs, Karaoke, Open Mic, Live music etc
    3. Managing of the event  bar program and event bar staff
    4. Managing private parties, bookings, weddings, film and other activities; Site rep or designate assistant to be site representative with ownership guidance 
    5. Assisting ownership in conducting tours and meetings to plan and book events 
    6. Coordinating on and off site events & managing booked production for AUW and Cultured South where available
    7. Coordination with ownership  on Curation of Event Bar Campaigns, Sponsorships  & Programming 
    8. Securing Off Site Bar Experiences in community and running them from top to bottom
    9. Working directly with Ownership and marketing team to showcase and market venue attributes and offerings
 

Duties Overview:  

  • Present, promote and sell the venue using unique selling points promote products to existing and prospective customers
  • Work with existing/potential customers to meet their needs of event space and partnerships
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to event and mobile bar customer leads through cold calling and digital marketing
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Work to Achieve agreed upon event sales and bar number  targets and outcomes as agreed on with ownership
  • Coordinate event sales effort with team members and ownership
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new offerings and services.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Devise and implement marketing and events strategies with marketing team
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive business in new and existing markets
  • Partner with ownership to identify and recruit top  talent
  • Mentor employees to help them achieve individual & team sales objectives
  • Compile results, expenses and profits in organized manner via a spreadsheet shared with owner / venue
 

Cocktail Bar Manager Responsibilities:

  • Works alongside/in tandem with Taproom Manager (draft offerings)
  • Managing all aspects of the liquor bar program including:
    • Inventory ordering and management
    • Staffing/scheduling for events and regular service 
    • SOP / Operational procedure documentation and compliance
    • Working with Ownership to craft new cocktails and drinks
    • Cash management- Handling cash and documenting drops
  • Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked and prepared for events
  • Adhering to all safety and quality regulations.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
  • Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning bar/camper/station and returning to how it was at beginning of shift 
  • Have fun, create a dynamic atmosphere for patrons

Vacation: Vacation times and dates are flexible within reason and sufficient notice given. In short, take as much vacation time within reason just ensure your responsibilities are covered by other staff members and be mindful of important of deadlines. 

PTO:  5 days PTO for part time employees and 10 days PTO for full time employees within an earned calendar year

Discounts: We offer 50% off all Golda kombucha and Cultured South house-made products for employees and 25% off products that we bring in from other companies such as items for sale in our retail store or bottles of alcohol. One shift drink (alcohol , soda or Kombucha) shall be allowed when an employee is actively working or managing a shift or event. 

Compensation: Hourly to commensurate with experience, bonus structure/commissions potentially considered
