Company description
We are a pasture-based livestock and poultry farm based in the community of Stelle, IL. We believe that all farm animals should graze together symbiotically on perennial pastures in order to support the biodiversity and fertility of the land. Farming with this holistic, pasture-based method at our core, alongside organic agricultural methods, we aim to provide life-giving, pastured meat and eggs for our local community. Our meat and eggs are available at farmers' markets and select grocery stores and co-ops in the Chicago area. We also offer a Meat CSA program for customers in the Chicago-area, and we can ship our products anywhere within the United States.

We have FULL and PART-TIME roles available on our Certified Organic, grassfed livestock and poultry farm. You will get experience working with each animal group- cattle, pigs, poultry, sheep, goats. An ideal candidate is passionate, knowledgeable and committed to regenerative farming/ranching, and MUST be capable of working independently, making good decisions and multitasking.
Work duties include:
- Daily chores
- Moving and setting fence
- Collecting eggs
- Catching animals
- Packing Orders
Requirements:
- Willingness to do physical labor outdoors in heat, cold, and rain
- Able to tolerate odors and getting dirty, as well as occasional animal deaths
- Livestock experience is preferred, but not required
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to drive a variety of farm vehicles and light farm trucks for short-distance tasks
Work Timing:
- Job starts immediately
- Winter work may be available as well
- Approximately 40 hours a week, but work hours may vary depending on need
- 2-5 days a week. Days are negotiable.
- Availability at other times for emergencies is ideal
- Housing options available.
