The Role: Are you passionate about promoting healthier, more sustainable lifestyles? Do you possess strong communication skills and a natural talent for business development? Grobrix North America, in partnership with Green City Growers, is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in driving sales, nurturing customer relationships, and advancing our urban farming and lifestyle brand. This is an exciting opportunity to join a hands-on team within a rapidly expanding company committed to sustainability, wellness, and community activation. We are searching for an individual with a positive attitude, high emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness—a confident communicator and adept rapport builder, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset. The ideal candidate is driven by a larger purpose, capable of both collaborative teamwork and independent initiative, and enthusiastic about personal and professional growth.  This role will be the first hire in North America.

 

Scope of Work:

Urban Farming and Lifestyle Enthusiast:

  • Regularly visit and assist in managing our community of wall farms throughout Boston, providing support and guidance.
  • Encourage, enthuse, empower, and educate our communities to grow their own food and embrace healthier, more sustainable lifestyles, regardless of previous farming experience.

Marketing Support and Brand Ambassador:

  • Organize pop-up events and facilitate workshops with clients to promote our brand and products.
  • Represent Grobrix at trade shows with contagious enthusiasm, showcasing our values and offerings.
  • Cultivate your personal brand and amplify the company's profile through various social media channels.

Business Development and Sales Driver:

  • Generate leads and manage the sales pipeline to drive business growth.
  • Conduct client presentations to acquire new customers, demonstrating versatility in communication settings.
  • Play an active role in developing strategies to increase sales volume in assigned regions.

Greenfield Sales and Account Development:

  • Lead sales efforts to secure new clients and partnerships in the region.
  • Capitalize on cross-selling opportunities from the Green City Growers partnership to drive business growth.
  • Serve as the main contact for potential clients, nurturing relationships and identifying collaboration opportunities.
  • Develop tailored solutions and manage the entire sales process from prospecting to deal closure.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends, collaborate with marketing, and foster key stakeholder relationships to support business objectives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the company's growth through various scaling initiatives and strategic partnerships.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of new products and services.
  • Collaborate closely with local and regional teams to identify new business opportunities and drive growth.
  • Implement effective internal processes to maximize sales conversion and performance growth.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, business federations, and trade organizations, to foster partnerships and support business objectives.

Ideal Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in B2B sales, with a proven track record in managing enterprise clients, and leading projects through sales campaigns and account follow-up.
  • Demonstrates a basic grasp of the urban farming industry and additional knowledge of sales methodologies.
  • Ability to negotiate with stakeholders at different levels, with confidence in presenting to C-Suite audiences.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, capable of identifying opportunities and developing new propositions for clients.
  • Highly self-motivated and results-driven, with a willingness to assume responsibilities by stepping up.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, excelling in engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Possesses high emotional intelligence and active listening skills, with experience working effectively in cross-border, multicultural teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
