Pixie Scout’s Corporate Food Service Culinary Lead at Etsy
Pixie Scout is seeking a passionate and experienced culinary manager to lead our corporate food service program at Etsy’s global headquarters. We prepare a wide range of breakfast and lunch items for Etsy employees in a grab-and-go “Cafe, as well as a self-service, buffet-style “Canteen”. We work in well-appointed, newly-renovated kitchens in Etsy’s green, bright, and modern offices in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
The Culinary Lead position is a collaborative management role, focused on the following areas of leadership and responsibility:
Daily Food Service Preparedness
- Planning and directing a weekly food production schedule
- Planning and directing daily food services to meet pars and item availability benchmarks
- Working closely with Pixie Scout’s Etsy Operations Lead to track food service data
- Leading Culinary Team in minimizing waste and redirecting potential waste streams into menu items and/or donated food product for Pixie Scout to distribute to its community partners
- Receiving internal and external food service feedback, and implementing remediations as needed
Staff Oversight
- Working closely with Pixie Scout’s Etsy Operations Lead to manage a team of ~10-12 Culinary and Facilities team members
- Working closely with Pixie Scout’s Etsy Operations Lead to hire, onboard, and train new team members
- Working closely with Pixie Scout’s Etsy Operations Lead to maintain DOHMH compliance in all culinary spaces
- Training team members in culinary techniques and the execution of new and rotating menu concepts
Inventory Management
- Managing onsite food product inventory across multiple cold- and dry-storage spaces
- Working closely with Pixie Scout’s Culinary Director to place orders and requisition prepared food product from the Pixie Scout commissary.
Menu Planning
- Collaboratively planning new menus quarterly with the Pixie Scout and Etsy Leadership team
- Collaboratively researching and developing new menu concepts.
- Documenting menu item recipes and preparation procedures
- Facilitating the remediation of menu items and menu concepts based on feedback from Pixie Scout and Etsy
Collaborating with Guest Culinary Professionals
- Working with Pixie Scout’s leadership team to welcome esteemed and accomplished guest chefs as part of our Etsy Chef Residency program
- Leading the Culinary Team in the execution of guest chef menus

Job requirements:
- 4+ years of professional culinary experience
- 1+ year of professional culinary leadership experience
- Understanding of and adherence to NYC DOHMH standards and policies
- NYC Food Protection Certificate required
- Able to stand for at least 8 hours and complete tasks that may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
- English Language Proficiency: written and verbal fluency required
- Computer Skills: Google Workspace applications including Docs and Sheets
Job details:
- 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday with a daily schedule that falls between 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM; Preference given to applicants with the capacity to begin daily shifts by 7:30 AM
- For this position, we are offering a starting salary of $65,000.00 annually

Pixie Scout offers all Lead Positions the opportunity to enroll in Medical, Dental and Vision insurance managed through our small group insurance provider. Plan options are outlined by our broker. Enrollment is open each fall for a set number of weeks. Enrollment is also open to new hires or promoted employees 30 days after their hire or promotion date. Enrollment in any plan is optional. Pixie Scout coverage begins at 75% of the base plan premium for medical insurance. Employees may upgrade their medical plan and/or add supplemental dental or vision plans as well as dependent coverage at their own expense. These additional expenses as well as the remainder of any plan premium are deducted prior to income taxes from a Lead Position’s weekly paycheck.
