Daily Chew expands beyond the cafe. We create simple, seasonal, and nourishing experiences through our catering, events, and farmer's markets. Job description Must have at least 2 years of professional kitchen and management experience.
- Manage the Catering and Events are of the Operation.
- Lead in the successful execution of all caterings
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in an efficient manner at all times
- Access, refer to, and communicate with Team Google Docs accounts. Must have experience in and understanding of Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and proficient email and communication skills.
- Communicate daily through Slack channels.
- Work closely with the Daily Chew GM to coordinate the logistics of all day to day operations at Daily Chew
- Work to further standardize, streamline and systematize all BOH operations at Daily Chew.
- Write kitchen prep lists daily and hold staff accountable.
- Maintain standards and quality of food and presentation.
- Maintain food cost at 28% monthly.
- Direct and participate in the planning and execution of all food preparation
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and manage crisis with calm and collected manner
- Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance.
- Ensure proper inventory management through use of order guide processes etc
- Ensure full compliance with, and manage, sanitation regulations, health department regulations, and food safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with staff and guests
- Foster an educational environment that ensures all culinary staff are always current with recipe and dish changes, and are developed for future advancement.
- Ensure the tasks and duties necessary to open, operate and close the kitchen responsibly and safely are consistently executed.
- Create and manage kitchen schedule
- Aggressively monitor labor, scheduling, and overtime to ensure maximum productivity + profit.
- Ensure accurate ordering, receiving, product dating, product rotation, invoice processing and period-end inventory of product and supplies necessary to conduct smooth culinary operations.
- Play a key role in hiring and training.
