We are a small, independently owned artisanal food company based near Granville, Ohio. We are both Cheesemakers and Cheesemongers of fine artisan cheeses.
Our Granville Creamery crew handcrafts award winning cheeses and other seasonally inspired provisions with a strong focus on locally sourced ingredients. Our talented Cheesemongers create an authentic full service, cut-to-order shopping experience inside our capital city’s historic public market- The North Market. Job description We are currently interviewing for both Full-Time and Part-Time Cheesemongers at our North Market location. Both opportunities offer a competitive hourly base pay plus tips.
Cheesemonger requirements include an ambition to learn, attention to detail, good communication and organization skills, an interest in artisan foods and supporting our local food community, and above all a desire to offer an exceptional experience to customers.
We often stock large format cheese wheels. The ability to lift/carry at least 50 pounds and be able to stand for extended periods of time is required. Basic knowledge of food safety and customer service experience is preferred. Must be able to taste and enjoy cheese!
Cheesemonger responsibilities include offering excellent customer service, maintaining the quality and condition of our cheese inventory and other retail items. Teaching guests about cheeses and helping them choose the right cheese for their specific needs. Maintaining a clean and professional work environment.
We are a small, family-like team that enjoys working together and sharing our mutual passion for good food with others. There is always an opportunity for any interested Cheesemongers to also work with our creamery crew at our Granville cheese making facility.
