Foremother Foods was born from the roots of our organic farm in Boulder Colorado.  We create innovative and delicious products utilizing fermentation to preserve the local harvest and help others do the same.  We source from our farm and other farms in the region, to create distinctive bioregional products, from seed to sauce.  Our products include srirachas, kimchis, sauerkrauts, and many combinations thereof.  Our mission is to create delicious, healthy food that deeply nourishes people and planet.  We are guided by Hippocrates maxim to "let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."

 

Job description We are looking for someone who is inspired by our mission, believes in our product and is excited to help us bring it to the world.

Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with all of our customer accounts. Responsibilities include: deliver sales targets by acquiring, growing and retaining key accounts. This individual will inherit an initial customer base of natural food retailers and food service accounts in the Rocky Mountain region. The Account Manager will be accountable for all aspects of the selling process including building relationships with key decision makers, routine onsite checks of facings and stocking levels, and coordinating promotions. They will coordinate with the other team members and executive management to ensure successful startup and maintenance of these customers. 

Responsibilities

  • Primary performance metric will be to deliver on velocity targets for defined set of accounts/potential accounts.
  • Gain new accounts
  • Develop and execute account plans.
  • Develop deep customer relationships at the buyer and grocery manager level as well as with the marketing teams to ensure long-term commitment and revenue
  • Collaborate with executive management, demo teams, and marketing to advance company objectives
  • Develop understanding of fermentation processes and our brand identity as well as the customers’ businesses to optimize customer adoption of our unique products
  • Analyze sales results and forecast future purchasing patterns
  • Anticipate customer requirements and work through account difficulties
  • Identify and follow through on cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing to prepare and understand sales information for clients, and be able to readily discuss concepts behind product with prospective buyers
  • Increase revenue and profitability by selling-in new products to existing accounts
  • Ensures coordination with A/R.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • >2 years of successful sales experience with a proven track record for achieving sales target and experience that includes responsibility for corporate/national accounts
  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated success
  • Excellent analytical skills; proficient with Excel and customer database management tools.
  • Ability to learn, communicate and sell locally grown fermented foods.
  • Excellent organizational skills, naturally driven to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel locally
