Job description

First for Women, a national consumer magazine reaching an audience of 3.4 million every three weeks, seeks an enthusiastic full-time test kitchen associate. You’ll be responsible for working with the food team to concept our cookbook menu, develop and test all recipes for publication and manage the test kitchen’s day-to-day operations, including ordering groceries, managing the budget and submitting expense reports.

The ideal candidate will be visually minded with some experience in food styling and planning/prepping for photo shoots. He or she should also have a passion for healthy cooking, with a strong knowledge base of diet trends, smart swaps to lighten up dishes and ways to incorporate superfood ingredients for an added nutrition boost. Please note that we’re looking to fill this position immediately, and that finalists will be asked to pitch a potential menu to showcase your skills.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A degree in culinary arts
  • Experience in a test kitchen and developing recipes, ideally for a print publication
  • A rudimentary knowledge of InDesign and Microsoft Office
