Desired Qualifications:
-Must be enthusiastic about agriculture. This position has the potential to transition to a permanent role with greater responsibility so I would prefer someone who is serious about farming.
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stay energetic through many hours of physical labor, sometimes in the heat or cold.
-Must have reliable transportation to and from the farm.
-Farming/gardening experience is a plus but not required. You must have a positive attitude and good work ethic.
Two positions are available.
Jobs would start February 1st (flexible) Compensation this position is : hourly, varies DOE, $8.00 - $10.00

Snapfinger Farm is a small vegetable/fruit/herb farm located just outside of Atlanta. We will be growing on approximately 1.5 acres this year. This includes one 30x96 hoop house and 30x72 greenhouse. This is the second year of production on this property which was converted from horse pasture a year ago. I am currently applying for organic certification and my growing practices already reflect those standards.
Internship description
The internship will involve all aspects of running a small produce farm. You will be involved in every aspect of production from seed to the customer. Tasks include growing transplants in the greenhouse, direct seeding, mechanical and hand weeding, transplanting, bed preparation, harvest, packaging for delivery, possible farmers market/delivery, basic construction, etc. In addition to hourly pay, lunch will be provided on the farm and you will have access to produce as available.
