Company description Heritage Farm is a small family farm located in the beautiful rolling hills of west Georgia. We farm 40 acres here at our primary residence and have an additional 200 acres of leased land. We are a certified naturally grown farm raising vegetables, meats and eggs. We service a 60 member CSA and a number of growing metro area farmers market and local food hubs. Job description This position is a management position and reports directly to the farm owner.

Responsibilities
*Field Tractor Work: Tillage, Bed Prep, Direct Seeding, Fertilizer application, Cultivation, Plastic Mulch Laying, Cover Crop application, Bush Hogging, Bed/ Field clean up, Side dressing
*Lead crew in Field work: hand cultivation, row covers, clean up, harvesting and washing vegetables.
*Irrigation: installation and running schedules
*Transplanting
*Pest and Disease Identification and Application
*Farmers Market and CSA vegetable packing and distribution
*Assist with greenhouse seeding, watering and maintenance of greenhouse
*Help train apprentices and other general laborer(s) on daily farm tasks
*Assist with farm maintenance of tractors, machinery, equipment, vehicles and infrastructure
*Assist with designing and implementing farm tools, implements, and other projects to help improve the farm’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Requirements: 1- 3 years of farming experience in organic vegetable production, previous farm management/leadership is preferred.
Farmers market sales experience-setting up and breaking down
Willingness to take initiative and take on responsibility

Proficient in: growing and harvesting all types of vegetables, washing and bunching, weeding, installing drip tape and other forms of irrigation, direct seeding into the field, transplanting and greenhouse seeding and management.
