Front of the house and Sandwich artist! Treats is a specialty market and bakery in Wiscasset Maine. We make all of our food from scratch on site and source as locally as possible. With over 12 years in the business we are well established and have an amazing customer base where you can become part of a community of wonderful people on daily basis. We are looking for people that love to work with other people, love good food, have a desire to work in an environment where intentional food is priority as are the products on our shelves. You would be working in the front of the house at times serving food and making latte's, or maybe helping customers choose the right cheese and wine for a picnic...Or you maybe working in the kitchen to craft sandwiches, make savory spreads, prep bread dough and a variety of other tasks which make this job dynamic. There is not a lot of standing around but it is fun and we have a good group of people to work with! So join our TREATS team!
Job description
TREATS in Wiscasset is housed in a 1700's building and has been an establishment for over 30 years. My husband and I have had it for over 12 years and we enjoy the people that work with us in running this unique business. We have everything from wine, cheese, specialty local products, to pottery from England, textiles from afar and from home, and of course our home made baked goods that are some of the best in New England! We do pay overtime and have great store benefits...like wine, beer and coffee at cost. What will you be doing? First and foremost great customer service! Depending on the position that you work, which may be working in the front of the market/bakery with customers, making espresso drinks, serving food, helping with cheese or just helping customers find products they are looking for...If working in the kitchen you would be creating awesome sandwiches that make people happy, some are fresh and cold..others are paninis for our press. Then there would be daily kitchen prep, bread dough prep and overall helping to keep the kitchen neat and tidy! Desired applicant would love good food, be interested in the local food scene here in Maine and really like working with people! Being part of our team means showing up on time, working well with others and self motivated. This job is not seasonal!
