Company description The Serenbe Farmers and Artists Market is an eclectic market comprised of small local and sustainable growers, artisans, and craftsmen. A broad spectrum of vendors and customers meet each Saturday to share in their passion for sustainable food and local art. 

Our established market is held in a unique outdoor environment in the Selborne village green of the Serenbe community, surrounded by retail shops, restaurants, and art galleries. Each Saturday, we highlight exciting events and programming geared to educate and entertain our ever-growing customer base. We have monthly chef demos, canning and preserving demos seasonally, and activities for children.

Job description

Serenbe Farmers Market Coordinator

The Farmers Market Coordinator will receive diverse experience working on the multiple projects involved in planning and executing a farmers market. This position is part-time (15-25 hours per week) March – December 2017.

REPORTS TO:

Market Manager

 

AVAILABILITY:

Should be willing to commit to Saturdays for the full duration of the farmers market season plus May Day & Holiday Bazaar. Weekly schedule can be flexible.

 

DUTIES:

• Research new market vendors, particularly regional farms
• Set up/Tear down & event coordinating for weekly Serenbe Farmers Market
• Post Serenbe Market events on local news calendars and engage public through Social Media including Facebook, Twitter & Instagram
• Attend weekly meetings with Market Manager
• Manage Farmers Market budget
• Availability for other events including: Trail Races (April 1 & November 4), May Day (May 7) & Holiday Bazaar (December 2).

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate is extroverted and able to think critically on their feet. Be curious, a connector, a builder and passionate about working with people, organic farming and event planning. Personable, proactive, gently informative and open to dialogue and other points of view. Practical skills necessary include social media, research and budgeting. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe CS preferred.
