The Market Restaurant is a seasonal, truly farm to table restaurant in Gloucester, MA. Over the past 8 years, we have worked closely with our farmers, fishermen and ranchers to write small, ingredient-driven menus that truly reflect the bounty and beauty of New England's warmer months. Co-owners and chefs Nico and Amelia Monday were inspired by their many years cooking at Chez Panisse to open their own heart-felt venture here on the North Shore, and have inspired this small coastal community to view food and dining with sustainability, creativity and a greater sense community in mind. 
 
Job description Each year Nico and Amelia Monday have the opportunity to hand pick a talented group in the prep kitchen and on the line. From mid-May to mid-October*, our staff cooks some of the most sought after food on the North Shore, with stunning views of Lobster Cove from the kitchen. Staff meals, night swims and saunas off the dock round out shifts on the daily. 

Along with preparing all ingredients for nightly service, prep and line cooks are responsible for working efficiently in setting up all stations, hand-making pastas and working together in our small, fast-paced kitchen. Mutual respect as well as clear and respectful communication between FOH and BOH is held to a very high standard at The Market, and builds a true team mentality year after year. 

Experience is a must, but know that we all have room to learn and grow and that all levels will be considered. Seeking prep, line, and pastry positions, so please share your resumes with any relevant experience. 

*Please keep in mind that although The Market is seasonal, our year-round sister restaurant, Short & Main, often hires from our team when there is space in the off-season. Compensation this position is : hourly, varies DOE, $13.00 - $18.00 Application instructions
