CFM currently operates the East Atlanta Village, Grant Park, Decatur, Ponce City on the Beltline, and Fresh MARTA Farmers Markets as well as educational outreach programs and events. Job description

Community Farmers Markets seeks part time seasonal Farmers Market Ambassadors to join our farmers market teams. The Farmers Market Ambassadors serve as the welcoming face of the market and will be a spokesperson within their market community. Market Ambassadors work closely with their Market Manager, CFM staff and volunteers, engage closely with vendors, and liaise with community partners.


Community Farmers Markets Operates the Following Farmers Markets:

  • Decatur Farmers Market:
    • Wednesdays from 4 to 7pm, year round.
    • Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, from April 8th to December 16th.
  • Grant Park Farmers Market:
    • Sundays from 9am to 1pm, from April 2nd to December 19th.
  • East Atlanta Village Farmers Market:
    • Thursdays from 4 to 8 pm, from April 13th to December 14th.
  • Ponce City Farmers Market on the Beltline:
    • Tuesdays from 4-7pm, from April 11th to November 14th.

Hours:

The position is up to 8 hours/week for market season (April-December- DFM-S, EAVFM, GPFM, & PCFM and January-December, DFM-W)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and Take-Down Market (CFM booths and help vendors)
  • Information Booth Operations
  • Process Merchant Services and Sell Merchandise
  • Customer Relations
  • Support Programs Booths Participants and Activities
  • Community Outreach and Education, as time allows

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be friendly, outgoing, organized and passionate about local food and the mission of CFM.
  • Candidates must be available to work every market during market season.
  • Experience in one of the following fields preferred but not required: non-profits , community-organizing, nutrition, public health, the service or retail industry, and/or the local food movement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in unconventional scenarios.
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt on the job.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and work in extreme weather.
  • Competency with email, Facebook, Instagram and other social media outlets strongly preferred.
  • Believe that all people deserve access to “good food” regardless of socio-economic situation.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a part time position, with hours varying according to market and outreach schedules (approximately 8 hours/week). Compensation starts at $9 per/hour. No benefits are included. If Candidate excels with this position, there is opportunity for growth within the organization.
