Job description

Brasen Hill Farm in Barrington, NH (www.brasenhillfarm.com) is hiring farm hands for the 2017 season. We raise pastured pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and grassfed cows, goats and lambs as well as organically grown (but not certified) vegetables and small fruits for retail, wholesale to markets and restaurants, and our CSA.

The farm hand position will consist of working in all aspects of the farm under the direction of the farm owners and assistant managers. Daily tasks would include activities such as barn chores, moving animals and fencing to fresh pasture, seeding, transplanting, weeding, and harvesting field crops, clearing brush along pastures and hedgerows, and basic carpentry and maintenance tasks.

An ideal candidate would be enthusiastic about working outdoors and as part of a larger team. Prior experience working on farms, in landscaping, or with animals is preferred but not required. While we do not offer a formal apprenticeship, farm hands can expect to learn about many aspects of a diversified small farm.

This position will begin in May 2017 and run through October 2017. Both part time and full time positions are available. We do not offer housing, though affordable housing options are available nearby. We offer competitive hourly pay based on experience; full time employees also receive products from our farm store.
