The Food Craft Institute seeks a Program Manager who will work with a team of management, staff and consultants to implement education programs, facilitate event logistics, and support development efforts of the organization. The Program Manager will also be responsible for supporting office operations and administration as necessary.
 

Management of Classes, Students and Course Logistics

  • Work with Executive Director (ED) to design and implement course curricula
  • Manage instructor communications, including invoice collections and accounting
  • Manage student recruitment, enrollment and course logistics (classroom set-up and break-down, ordering meals and arranging carpools as necessary)
  • Coordinate FCI classes and events to meet high standards of quality, creativity, accuracy and timeliness
  • Develop and maintain internal course calendars and deadlines

 

Coordination of Educational Events

  • Work with ED to develop and implement workshops and other events
  • Plan, optimize and manage other FCI special events and programs
  • Staff FCI events and supervise any volunteers and assistants
  • Assist ED in building new educational initiatives for FCI

 

Outreach, Marketing, and Social Media

  • Maintain multiple default email accounts (info@..., etc.) and answer or direct public inquiries
  • Assist Communications Manager in alumni and network communications as necessary
  • Make updates to FCI digital channels, as necessary for ongoing class content (otherwise defer to Communications Manager)
  • Distribute promotional materials for upcoming FCI Courses 
  • Represent FCI at promotional events to recruit students and increase exposure to the organization

 

Admin/Other

  • Train and manage FCI interns, establish protocol and tasks for new hires
  • Answer phones and monitor voicemail in FCI office
  • Maintain office systems, including mail receiving, digital subscriptions, stocking pantry and office supplies, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Background in nonprofit management or program coordination, particularly within specialty food sector
  • Demonstrated ability with various software programs including Google Apps, MailChimp, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail, exemplary organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize various ongoing and long term projects
  • Solid interpersonal skills and customer service finesse with the ability to build and foster internal and external relationships
  • Passion to cultivate relationships with craft food makers, chefs and local community organizations

 

This is a full-time, exempt position. The compensation package includes a competitive salary, medical benefits and paid vacation and holidays. This position requires periodic weekend and evening work.
